Her Centre, a women’s advice service in Greenwich, seeks a Housing Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (Housing IDVA) with Safe Lives qualification in domestic abuse, or similar, to provide advocacy for women experiencing domestic violence.
We are also seeking a Housing Outreach Post to work with women experiencing domestic abuse and housing issues that works through the local community and children’s centres. Her Centre has an accredited IDSVA service with a strong team and a clear commitment to empowering women. We are a women-led service.
Both are contracts until the end of March 2021, and the post will require at least one year’s experience working with women escaping domestic violence, knowledge and experience of legal options for women including knowledge of housing rights, and the workings of the MARAC.
Posts will be based in Woolwich SE18 but will require travel across the Greenwich borough, and will include working at three outreach hubs in Greenwich each week. Currently, posts would be home working.
If you wish to apply for these posts, please contact Reshma on reshma@hercentre.org for an application form.
The Closing Date for application is 31st May 2020. Interviews will be in the following week.
Funded by MHCLG and Nationwide Foundation. Due to the intensive and sensitive support involved in this post, the posts are open to women only. Section 7(2)e of the Sex Discrimination Act exemption applies.
