Support for Those Affected by Abuse

If you or someone you know needs help around abuse, Her Centre can help where you are at risk and to get emotional support, legal, practical help or access a refuge. We can support women to make themselves safe and signpost men.

You can contact the Her Centre on 020 3260 7772.

Emergencies:

In an emergency where afraid for your safety, always ring 999. Reporting to the police can lead to better support from the police should a future incident occur.

Advice and Options:

Unsure what help you need and just want to talk through your options? Her Centre manages a weekly One Stop Shop, in partnership with local solicitors. This runs every Friday morning, 10-12 at YMCA Thames Gateway, Antelope Road, SE18 5QG. Alternatively, ring the Greenwich DV Helpline on 020 8317 8273.

Domestic or sexual abuse:

If you have recently experienced domestic or sexual abuse and want practical or emotional help then just call us on 0203 260 7772, 9am-5pm, or leave a message and we will get back to you.

For Phone advice on options during office hours, ring the Greenwich DV helpline on 0208 317 8273.

Out of Office Hours support:

If you want a refuge out of office hours, ring 0808 2000 247 anytime for refuge vacancies across the country.

“I created a prison for myself for a period of time after the trial and didn’t go anywhere on my own after dark, I also refused to leave my flat during the weekends until I had to go to work on Monday mornings. The therapy supported me through re-identifying myself and realise I shouldn’t feel guilty..”
